Uganda

Uganda is the green jewel hugging Lake Victoria in the heart of Africa whose forests team with wildlife species including many from the Central African region. The beautiful rain forests are home to many primates; the chief attractions are the endangered Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi and Mgahinga and the Chimpanzees of Kibale Forest and Kyambura Gorge.

Green Heart of Africa

Stunning birdlife is on display throughout the country and the forests which connect to the huge Congolese rain-forests contain many species endemic to this region. Great Blue Turacos are a sight to behold in the swooping through the trees as are the steely eyed Whale Headed Storks in the marshland of the north. Dotted throughout the country are perennially graceful pairs of Crowned Cranes.

The scenery here is so incredibly evocative, with the dramatically terraced slopes, the rich red soils, traditional villages and explosions of color of villagers in their traditional attire and culture. The South West of the country is spectacular due to the past volcanic activity creating numerous jagged peaks and crater lakes.

Big game numbers have rebounded in Uganda and whilst not in the same density or abundance as Kenya or Tanzania there is still plenty to see. Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park are home to a wide array of wildlife including elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and plains game including giraffe, zebra and antelope species. Cruises are offered in both these parks, creating a fabulous addition to game driving, and crocodile, hippos and birds are abundant.

I am thrilled with all my photos and put the best ones into photo books. I now enjoy showing these to my friends who are all envious of the fantastic holiday I had! Thank you for being such an excellent guide. Of all the wonderful scenery, birds, mammals and plants I saw, the shots of the African sunset still bring a tear of joy to my eyes. I never expected to get that! I think the whole holiday exceeded my expectations even the amazing thunderstorms that we experienced. I hope to return again one day!

We are back home in a rather damp dark England and wishing we were back in Kenyan sunshine. We just want to say a big "Thank you" to you and your team for such a marvelous trip. Everything was perfect from the moment Kenneth picked us up until we said "goodbye to Peter at the airport. The arrangements you made, the camps, the weather, and the animals we saw could not have been bettered. Thank you very much for all the trouble you took for us. We really hope it will not be our last visit!

We had THE most wonderful holiday. Thank you, to you, and your team for all your organizing. Thank you for the goodie bag on arrival. It was lovely for us both not to have to think about a thing - and to have everything taken care of so expertly. All in all a dream holiday.......and we saw Cheetah and her cubs and leopard!! Thank you again. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can come again.
