Anyone who has trekked through these forests and spent an hour with these majestic creatures will tell you it was one of life’s most memorable experiences. Gorilla permits are restricted to only ten visitors per day to each family. This minimizes the impact on the troops natural activities yet provides a valuable revenue stream for the Wildlife Authorities to protect this limited mountainous habitat.
The surrounding volcanic regions offer simply stunning scenery, an added attraction to any visit. The other incredible primate experience is visiting wild chimpanzees in lowland forest. These visits offer a chance to see the incredible interactions of a troop in the wild and can be woven into your itinerary in Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania on the remote shores of Lake Tanganyika.
