Botswana’s landscape is defined by the Kalahari Desert and the verdant Okavango Delta, a world heritage site and one of the largest inland deltas in the world. Chobe National Park, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe, in the north of the country holds a huge number of elephants and other wildlife. Together with the adjacent Hwange National Park, in Zimbabwe, this elephant paradise is also home to huge numbers of buffalo, diverse plains game and lion. The Savuti and Linyati marshes are superb habitats for birdlife and the park’s fauna. A Zambezi river cruise allows close up viewing and photographic opportunities with hippo, crocodiles and the colorful birdlife.

The fossil pans of Nxai Pan offer spectacular huge herds of Zebra, Wildebeest, Springbok and Gemsbok attract many predators – Lion, Cheetah and both brown and spotted Hyena. There are large numbers of Bat Eared Fox, which preys on rodents and reptiles.
Tau Pan offers some of Botswana’s best summer game viewing (December–May), with some species such as springbok and gemsbok not found in the Okavango or Kwando–Linyanti areas. Furthermore, the birding here is unforgettable!
